Frequently asked questions

How do I save an image?

Tap Snap to open the camera. Take the picture, choose how long to keep it, then tap Save image. Images you take in Pocket Later are not added to your Photos library.

Can I save a screenshot or an image from another app?

Yes. In any app, tap the Share button, choose Pocket Later from the share sheet, pick how long to keep the image and save it. You can share one image at a time. The original stays where it was.

How long are images kept?

You choose when you save: 1 day, 1 week, a custom number of days, or Forever. You can change the duration later from the image's detail screen. The new period starts from when you change it.

What happens when the time runs out?

The image moves to Recycled images. It is not deleted and it still takes up storage. You can restore it with a new duration at any time. Images are only removed for good when you delete them from Recycled images or tap Empty Recycled images.

I deleted an image by mistake. Can I get it back?

If it's still in Recycled images, open it and tap Restore. Permanent deletion can't be undone. It also removes the image from your other synced devices.

How do I find an image?

Use the search field. Pocket Later searches the image's description and any text it recognized in the image, like signs, labels, codes and model numbers. You can edit a description at any time to make it easier to find.

Why doesn't my image have a description?

Descriptions are created on your device, so how detailed they are depends on your device and language. If none can be made, the image shows as “Saved image”. You can type your own description, and it will always be kept.

How do I sync between my iPhone and iPad?

Sign in to the same iCloud account on both devices and make sure iCloud is on for Pocket Later. New images appear on your other device once sync finishes, and large images may take a moment to download. If sync stops, check that you have free iCloud storage. You can see the sync status in Pocket Later's Settings.

Why does Pocket Later ask for my location?

So each photo can remember where it was taken, like where you parked. Location is read only while the camera is open and is never tracked in the background. It's optional: if you decline, everything else works normally. To change it, go to Settings → Pocket Later → Location on your device.

The camera isn't working.

Make sure camera access is on in Settings → Pocket Later → Camera. You can still browse your images and save images from other apps without camera access.

Which devices and languages are supported?

iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 / iPadOS 26 or later. The app is available in English, Spanish, German, Arabic and Hebrew.

Is Pocket Later free?

Yes. There are no ads, subscriptions or image limits.
