Privacy Policy

The short version

Vicaya does not collect, store or share your personal data. Your documents, settings, test sets and knowledge bundles stay on your Mac and in the places you choose to save them.

This policy explains how Vicaya, the Mac app, its command-line tool and its runtime package for iOS apps (together, “Vicaya”) handle information. Vicaya is developed by Avi Tsadok (“we”, “us”).

Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. Vicaya has no user accounts, and it contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.

Your documents and projects

The documents you add, the chunks and indexes Vicaya builds, your test questions and evaluation results, and the knowledge bundles you export are processed and stored locally on your Mac. They are never sent to us.

Vicaya uses Apple's on-device frameworks, including Foundation Models, Core Spotlight and Natural Language, to split, index, search and answer questions about your content. This processing happens on your device under Apple's own privacy terms. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apps you build with Vicaya

The runtime package and the Swift code Vicaya generates run inside your own iOS app. They do not collect data about your app's users and do not send any data to us. As the developer of that app, you are responsible for its privacy practices and its App Store privacy details.

Crash reports and App Store data

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and anonymous usage statistics. Apple controls this collection, and we cannot use it to identify you. You can turn it off at any time in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Analytics & Improvements.

Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as screenshots or sample documents. We use this only to answer your request, never share it, and delete it when it is no longer needed.

Children's privacy

Vicaya is a tool for software developers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Vicaya handles information, we will update this page and the date above. If a future version adds any data collection, this page will say so before that version is released.
